Key dates for Utah voters
Utah is a vote-by-mail state. Every active registered voter automatically receives a ballot in the mail before each election. You can return it by mail, drop it at a ballot drop box, or vote in person at a Vote Center.
You can register to vote online, by mail, or in person. Same-day registration is available at Vote Centers on Election Day with two forms of valid ID.
In even-numbered years (like 2026), Utah holds federal, state, and county elections. In odd-numbered years, Utah holds municipal elections for city council, mayor, school board, and special districts.
